Hi David, Using the capo and playing G or C puts you where you need to be for the fiddle an d mandolin players. If it's easier, hooray. Making music is supposed to be fun not a gymnastic workout.

I am working on Old Dangerfield and Forked Deer. I tried Old Dangerfield without a capo and it sounds cool but it is a lot of work. I capo up to A in the G position and things go much better. Any thoughts?

Hi Bonnie, Thanks. It's a lot more fun to win a contest than to be the loser on the bottom. The two kids ahead of me were just great. I'm going to play like that when I turn 20, too.

Hi Jim, I was going to mention that the Infamous Stringdusters will be in St. Maries, ID on July 22, but I see that they are posted on the WBA website. I just received an e-mail from Steve Spurgin(played bass with Dan Crary and Thunderation at the festival a couple of years ago. He's playing with a group called Sawmill Road now and they are good. Their website is www.sawmillroad.net and worth a listen. Congratulations on your 3rd place. I got an e-mail the other day that said someone posted a comment on my profile but there is nothing there. Hey Stan Hall..
We missed the festival last year but hope to make it up this year.. We bought a home in Battle Ground Wa this year and are working the festivals up and down Oregon and West Wa. We still have our home up in Sandpoint and get up there from time to time. We are definitely going to be at Blue Waters this year as well. Look forward to pick'n with you again....
