Band Description and Brief Bio
Fashioned from the heart of tradition and infused with adrenaline, the Urban Monroes contemporary bluegrass style is an outgrowth of the combined skill of some of the Pacific Northwest's finest talent. Fast-paced and highly energetic, this Oregon band performs both original and traditional bluegrass with a style and delivery that is uniquely its own.
Playing on some of the largest stages in the western United States from Wintergrass to String Summit, the Urban Monroes have demonstrated a fully charged stage presence that combines raw energy and intricate delivery.
Band Trivia: Band member credits range from, Record of the Year, CD of the Year and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to state bluegrass instrument champions. Their musical experience circles the globe taking members as far away as the U.K. Two of the Urban Monroes have been featured on the Emmy award winning television show Oregon Art Beat and the band has recently shared the stage with the Infamous String Dusters, Dailey and Vincent, Dale Ann Bradley and many other great bands and artists.
